
Length: One-year program – Two semesters
Purpose: Provides students with a basic introduction to developing applications using Java. J2SE and J2EE concepts will be covered. In addition, the student will complete course work in planning, managing and programming with Oracle databases. Many of the courses will be taught through a Sun Solaris platform.
Occupational Objectives: Provides entry-level exposure to Java application development, Oracle PL/SQL programming and Oracle database administration.
Admission Requirements: Admission to the program is governed by the established admission requirements to the College. Prior knowledge of computer hardware, software and Internet is preferred. A degree in information systems, management or other business/technical program would be extremely helpful.
Program Requirements: Student will be prepared for the Java SE – Sun Certified Associate, Oracle Certified Associate (1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL and 1Z0-147 Program with PL/SQL), and Oracle Certified Associate (1Z0-042 Oracle Database 10g: Administration I).
Delivery Modes: Program is available through web-based, traditional or on-site courses.
