
Length: One-year program—Two semesters
Purpose: To provide the skills, knowledge, and some of the experience required
for employment in one or more of the following occupational areas.
Occupational Objectives:
• Security Specialist
• Network Administrator
• Security Officer
• Security Consultant
• Security Engineer
• Information Security Analyst
Admissions Requirements: Admission to the program is governed by the established
admission requirements to the College.
Program Requirements: A great program to add-on to the AAS in Information
Systems Technology or a bachelor’s degree. Network security is a high priority
concern for all organizations. This program prepares students to be able to
implement the appropriate technology to secure the critical systems that
organizations depend on for day-to-day operations. The course work will also
prepare students to take relevant industry certifications such as the CompTIA
Security+ exam. Security certifications are necessary for students to obtain in
order to secure some network security jobs. Students will be provided
appropriate demonstrations and hands-on exercises to learn to implement the
necessary technology to protect these critical network resources. Upon
satisfactory completion of the program, the graduate will be awarded the Career
Studies Certificate in Network Security.
