Registered Occupational Therapist in VA for past 7 years working in Buchanan and Tazewell counties. for the past year and a half I've been working for a national home health company home office in Baton Rouge, LA with local offices in Clintwood Lebanon Wytheville. My office in Lebanon provides nursing and therapy services for Tazewell, Russell, and Washington counties in the comfort of patients homes. I married in 1999 to Jeff Keen who attended SVCC from 1996 to 1998 and graduated from BC in 2000 with and administration of justice BS degree. He is employed by VA DOC as a counselor at KMCC. After my family came up to Maryland with me I took things a little easy trying to get kids in school and move into our home. In between things I have been doing crafts to keep me sane or at least busy. Now I am in the process of waiting to go to work at NRH, have to wait for Hr to get there work done. NRH is a apart of medstar and is a rehabilitation center. I will have multiple tasks to do which does involve my accounting also. I am currently working for the Buchanan County Technology and Career Center where I have and still teaching Cosmetology for the past seven years. I have one daughter who is 21 and is employed with Tru Point Bank in Grundy. My hobbies is advancing my education and working part time in a beauty salon. I love being with people and teaching Cosmetology. My future goals is to be employed with SVCC. SVCC was my beginning and I feel I have a lot to offer future students. I became serious about my education in 2000 while having to work two jobs and raising a daughter. My Husband graduated from SVCC in Mining, after three heart attacks and five by-pass surgery he had to change professions. Hey, since leaving SVCC in 1995 and Southwest Virginia in 1998 I have completed many of my goals. I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in 2003 with my BSN. I soon took up the challenge and entered graduate school at East Carolina University. I will finish my training in Nurse Anesthesia in May of this year and receive my MSN. I moved to Wilmington, NC in 1998 were I worked as an RN in the Emergency department, cardiac cath lab and Surgical/Trauma ICU. I meet my wife in 1999 and we were married in October of 2003. While working on my degree I worked as a substitute in the Buchanan County School system for 13 years. Left the school system to work in the coal mines for Consol Buchanan #1. I did work awhile with the mentally challenged. That was a very rewarding job. I loved it, but due to personal circumstances I had to take time away from working. I plan on going back, but right now I am enjoying being a stay-at-home Mom to 3 beautiful children who are 13, 11 & 3. I really enjoyed my time at SVCC. It was one of the best decisions I ever made & I also proved to myself I could do it. I made a wonderful friend while at college, but sadly have lost touch with her. I live, work and attend college in Blacksburg, VA. I work at the Virginia/Maryland College of Veterinarian Medicine in the Large Husbandry Section and also as a Veterinarian Technician at North Main Small Animal Clinic. I am attending Virginia Tech in the Vet Med program and plan to graduate in the spring of 2005. I will then go on to get my PhD. in Wildlife Science and a DVM with specialization in orthopedic surgery. I have participated in four study abroad through Virginia Tech to countries such as Belize, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Finland, Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Germany, France, Austria, India (Sikkim), Nepal and Singapore. I plan on having a career in Vet Med that allows me travel the world (maybe National Geographic!). After leaving SVCC I lived in Detroit for 5 yrs. working for Consulting Engineering firms doing materials testing. In 1993 I was hired by Crowder as the Senior Technician to set up their Quality Control program to insure that our Asphalt Products met DOT guidelines. In 1999 I was promoted to Quality Control Mangager, and continued in that role untill 2003. Since last summer I have been working in our Site and Highway Divison working on estimating construction projects of up to $15 Million. I am having lots of fun and am thankful for the opportunities that have been available to me because of the education I received. When I have time off I enjoy traveling and spending time with my "kids" a dog and cat.

I currently live in Chilhowie, VA and work as a Registered Nurse in ICU at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. I volunteer as an EMT-Cardiac Technician with the Washington County Lifesaving Crew in Abingdon, VA. I also work as a part-time 911 Dispatcher for the Smyth County Sheriff's Office.

I am the GIS/Planning Technician for Smyth County, VA. I have a wonderful wife, Jennifer, and we are currently living in the Emory area. I am involved in a Prison Ministry which takes a lot of my time. I send CD's of songs that I have written to the inmates when they get home. I am working with a very special child at Twin Valley as his teacher and aide. My husband, Billy Ray, and I just celebrated our 21 anniversary with our boys Billy lee, age 20, and Patrick age 12. I am in my 4th year of teaching 5th grade in Asheville, North Carolina. After this year, I plan on continuing my education be attending graduate school as Western Carolina University. I will be pursuing a masters degree in educational administration. I have now been married for a little over two years to Marie. She is a native of this area, which has given me many ties to Western NC now. Thus, plan to live here for a long time to come. I am also a high school track coach and I have a few other part time jobs, because they pay teachers SOOOOO MUCH. :-)
Still living in Hawaii. Completed Bachelors in Psychology through Old Dominion University this month (finally), and starting Masters in Counseling Psychology with Chaminade University of Honolulu next term (2002). I was promoted in August to Program Coordinator (advisor) at two of our army education sites for Chaminade University. I now assist students with their degree plans, register them for classes, and assist instructors who teach on base. Well, merry Christmas to everyone back home. Working with The Virginia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force - Drug Demand Reduction Program with office located at the armory below SVCC. My coverage area is from the tip of Lee County, to Bedford, Martinsville, And Allegheny County. Serving as support to Local, State and federal Agencies in the Education, Awareness and Prevention of Drugs and Drug Abuse. With 22 years in the National Guard and the Last 11 years 2 months on active duty with the counterdrug task force. 1990 - 1992 Support to the United States Customs Service, 1992-2000 support to The Virginia State Police, and 2000 to present Drug Demand Reduction NCO. Interest include coaching girls basketball grades 4-7 and Officiating High School Basketball. My family includes my wife, Melissa, two daughters, Hope and Takeysha and my son, James Aaron.
