Defensive Driving Clinic SCHEDULE

    Southwest Virginia Community College is now a certified provider for the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Clinic. 

    When you attend a driver improvement clinic you'll learn defensive driving techniques that can help you avoid and prevent crashes.

    Print and complete a registration form to enroll.  Enrollees must register and pay 5 days prior to clinic. Print and complete a non-credit registration form in Adobe Acrobat Reader .pdf format or print a non-credit registration form in Word .doc format.

WHAT IS COVERED IN THE COURSE?

Complete a driving skills analysis

View videos and respond to questions related to various driving scenarios

Review protection of driver and occupants

Discuss driver abilities related to vision, hearing, physical illness, fatigue, psychological conditions, alcohol-drugs-reaction time, signs of impaired driver

Driving  conditions, stopping distances, hazardous situations, anti-lock braking systems

Road facts, maintenance, safe winter driving

Head-on collisions, split second decisions

Final exam

COST
$75.00 per applicant, which includes materials needed and recording fees for the DMV.  Make check or money order payable to SwVCC.
