Use of personal IT assets on campus

Use of personal computer equipment on campus

College personnel who bring personal property on campus do so at their own risk. Personal property of any individual brought on site is the responsibility of the individual. The college can assume no liability for loss, theft, or damage.
Such property should bear a note or tag showing that it is personal property and listing the owner's name.

Checking out College equipment for official off-campus use.

If required for performance of job responsibilities, employees of SwVCC may check out equipment such as laptops, projectors, printers, or desktop computers for official off-campus use.

The employee checking out equipment must obtain supervisor approval and complete a Inventory Equipment Temporarily Removed From Campus form, (available at http://inside.sw.edu ) to be submitted to the Fixed Assets Control Officer.

Checkout forms are updated every 6 months.

Guidelines for Employee Equipment Check Out:

1. Only the college employee listed as the Temporary Custodian may use the computer and associated hardware/software.
2. No software is to be loaded by the Temporary Custodian.
3. No games are to be loaded by the Temporary Custodian.
4. If a problem occurs, all troubleshooting and repair to the PC is to be done by the College.
5. All troubleshooting and repair work, will be done at the College.

Inventory Transfers

Any inventory asset which is transferred from one department for use in another campus department or location is to be documented using a Inventory Transfer V1 form located at http://inside.sw.edu
