Use the SWCC Online Library Catalog to see what books, videos, audios, and other materials are available at the SWCC Library.  Many of the e-books owned by thw SWCC Library are also available via a Library Catalog search.

Start at the SWCC home page.  http://www.sw.edu

Click on the Library Services link...
     Or use the following URL: http://www.sw.edu/library.

On the Library home page, select the Catalog link.

Search modes in the Online Catalog include Basic, Advanced, or Browse.  Browse searches alphabetical listings.  Use Browse if you know the title, author, or subject of the item you need.  Use Basic (keyword) if you are not sure of exact titles, subjects, authors, etc.  Use the drop-down boxes to see all the indexed lists (Browse search) or fields (Basic search) that you can search.  Use Advanced to limit your search to a specific material format such as Visual Material to locate videos.

To begin a search, choose the mode and Type of  Search.  Then enter your search term(s) in the search box provided.  Press enter or click on Go.

In the results list, click on the # to the left of the item's author & title to see a more detailed view of the item record.  Take notice of the Location, Call Number.  This tells you where you can find the item in the Library.  The Holdings link shows if the item is available (On Shelf) or it will show the item's due date if the item is currently checked out.

If it is indicated on the Holdings page that the item is currently checked out (has a Due date), you have the option to Request this Item.  If you request the item to be put on hold for you, you will be notified when it is available for you to check out.  Please call the Library Circulation Desk to make sure that your contact information is up-to-date.

Notes:  The truncation symbol in the Online Catalog is a asterisk or a question mark (* or ?).  The full text of some items is available via the Online Catalog.  Click on the Ext(ernal) Link for Internet availability.
