OTA Director Administers Handwriting Assessment
Southwest Virginia Community College is offering
Emergency Medical Technician, First Responder and Refresher
classes starting Monday, January 30th at the college.
The classes will meet on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM
to 9:30 PM. EMT encompasses all aspects of basic care and
transport of critically sick and injured persons. First responder
covers advanced first aid topics and is less comprehensive than
EMT. Both meet OSHA safety requirements for industry, police and
fire departments. Only EMT qualifies the student for ambulance
work. Persons currently certified as either can attend for
recertification. For more information on this class, call Bill
