Southwest Virginia Community College is pleased to announce a residency with renowned best-selling author and Southwest Virginia native Lee Smith. Residency activities will take place Monday & Tuesday, March 15 & 16, 2010.

Monday, March 15, 7:00 p.m.

Public Reading and Book Signing of her new book  "Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger". This will be her FIRST public reading of this book.
Ratliff Commons, Dellinger Hall, SWCC
Reception to follow.

Tuesday, March 16, Time and location to be announced.

Workshop and  Reading from "Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger" for SWCC faculty, staff and students.

1:00 p.m.: Writing workshop at Richlands High School with middle school students

2:00 p.m.: Writing workshop at RHS for high school students

7:30 p.m.: B. Smith does Lee Smith, a one-woman play: a sampler of excerpts, music and anecdotes based on Lee’s life, her writings selected from her new book; music by Jeff Sebens.
