Many adults who are returning to college after beginning or raising their families are nervous about their ability to succeed in college and many are concerned that their academic skills may be a little "rusty."  The GOOD NEWS  is that the combination of many life skills and experiences and the availability of a variety of Student Development Services increase the success rate for Southwest Adult Learners.

You can enroll in courses for credit or non-credit - which ever meets your schedule needs -  and you will acquire the skills and knowledge you want for personal satisfaction, to begin that second career you've been thinking about or to advance in your current career.  Classes at SWCC provide a quick and economical return on your investment.  If you are a veteran, click here for more information about your educational options.

The Division of Workforce Development & Continuing Education provides lifelong learning opportunities through education, training, professional development, and community services. This division offers workshops, seminars, and classes for enrichment or skill development. Three program developers assist in providing the region with a well-trained, educated workforce, focusing on providing job upgrade skills for workers at minimal costs - pharmacy technician, health care technician, CPR and first aid, among others.

Southwest's Division of Business & Engineering coordinates customized, industry-specific training for area business and industry - computer skills, team building, blueprint reading, electronics, and statistical process control, to name a few.

The Career Center at SWCC offers a variety of career planning and employment services for current students, alumni, and regional business and industry - employment preparation classes, customized seminars, job search clinics, career fairs, and individual counseling sessions.  The Career Center is also a WorkKeys Regional Assessment Center for both employers and employees.
